Lush Haul

Hey ladies!

A few weeks ago I finally ventured into Lush in Aventura Mall. Walking into this place you're definitely caught off guard by the strong earthy smell, but then you regain your sense of excitement once you start looking around at all the goodies they have. I held off on doing a haul/review post because I wanted to have time to use the products. I've used them for about 3 weeks now and I am very satisfied with the results that I've gotten from these products.

The first product I'll mention is the sex bomb bathe bomb. Funny story.....well first off, as soon as you walk in you're greeted by one of the sales associates there. They seem to know ALOT about the products they sale! Anywho, I in walk in and was immediately greeted by this guy, I told him that I was first interested in looking at some bath bombs. I seen many youtubers talk about how much amazingness this stuff brings to your bath water, so I absolutely had to try it out. The very first one he shows me was the sex bomb, it smells great, it had glitter in it....I was sold on that one and another bathe bomb that I haven't tried yet. I couldn't wait to get home to use this sex bomb...as soon as I got home I started telling my mom about the things I purchased at Lush so I went over to show her everything. The very first thing my mom says about the sex bomb was "that's interesting, it's a vagina" LOL. I was so confused by that statement until she turned it around to show me.....it defintiely resembles a vagina! Or a flower, whichever, depending on where your mind is at the time! Nonetheless, it's super moisturizing and relaxing. It's more for aromatherapy but it also made my skin feel rejuvenated and moisturized.

I also brought (pictures below):
  • Tea Tree Water Toner
    • I started using a facial cream prescribed by my Dermatologists to prevent breakouts. While using this, I stopped using toners and moisturizers. I will admit I was pretty happy about the results. But as sales associates showed me this product I was immediately intrigued for some reason and decided to purchase it to see how it works for me. I am VERY pleased with this product. The first 2 weeks of using this product it brought out my pimples that were forming (pimples form under the skin weeks before they become visible). I know a product is working when I go this period and the breakout is not excessive, so I was happy to see that this was happening. Since using this product, my skin is visibly fresher and brighter looking.
  • Cosmetic Warrier
    • This product is more look a mask. The smell is extremely herb-like....not pleasant at all. But it does make your skin feel softer and smoother. I believe it helps with removing the oils and build-up on your skin. The interesting part about this product is that it has vodka in it.....which is the ingredient that helps combat the oils that can cause breakouts.
  • Ocean Salt
    • Love this exfoliator! It has sea salt granules so it is slightly more harsher on the skin than a typical exfoliator. But it definitely grinds away that layer of dead cells and buildup. I use this once a week and fell in love with it the first time I tried it.After using this stuff, I feel as though my skin comes alive again....it's brighter and smoother.
I was also given two samples of moisturizers--Gorgeous and Enzymion. I love love love Gorgeous...you can see the difference in my skin and I have only been using this product for about a week. My skin is baby bottom soft and smooth. I've seen a difference in the appearance of my dark spots as well. With this stuff, I barely have been wearing makeup because it though I still have noticeable dark spots, my skin still looks amazing and healthy. I have no need to hide my imperfections behind layers of foundations anymore, but yes! I still wear it sometimes (lol). The only con is the price of this stuff...honestly it's outta this world. For 1.5 oz it's $89.95.  A part of me says it's worth for the price, but then the other says that's way too much to spend and only get 1.5 oz. I'm still torn whether I should make this purchase,  but I do love this stuff. The Enzymion doesn't have results that are as noticeable to me. I'm going to using it to see how I feel about it because it's definitely less expensive than Gorgeous.

If you have not already, go check out Lush. Some of the prices are more on the higher-end, while others are more affordable. Their products are organic and really be beneficial from your skin so regardless of price (in some cases) it's worth it. I'm reaping the benefits and so should you!

May Favorites

Hey ladies!

As I said, I've collected new products that I've been trying out during my hiatus. Although I haven't done reviews on the products that will follow, I still want to share a few of my favorite products for the month of May.

Face:
  •  Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser
    • Very gentle cleanser that has Salicylic Acid which helps to get rid of acne and prevent future breakouts. Everyone who deals with acne should incorporate a product like this one into their face reggie. I've seen a drastic improvement in my acne....I have yet to have an acne breakout since I've been using this.
  • I've been getting into NARS cosmetics lately and have really been enjoying their products.
    • NARS Lipstick in Senorita....love this! I reach for this lipstick almost everyday. Great for every day wear!
    • NARS Lipgloss in Turkish Delight (Kim K's fav NARS color) and Chihuahua...I pair either one of these with Senorita and I am in heaven! They're just as stunning alone as well!
  • Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV
    • I bought this online from Hautelook for $10 to $15 and actually love this palette. For some reason, I was never really intrigued by it untill I came across it on this website--it was dirt cheap, I couldn't say no lol. But I'm glad I purchased it, the colors are opaque and very warm. Perfect for women of color!
  • M.A.C 's Fashion Sets Collection in Girl About Town, Impassioned, Morange and Please Me
    • Great, fun colors for Spring and Summer!
  •  M.A.C.'s Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Glorify
    • Love love love this for spring and summer! Gives you a to-die-for sun kissed glow
  •  Urban Decay's 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion
    • Love it! Super black liner that will last forever on your face! It could probably last more than 24 hours if necessary....although I do not recommend doing so lol.
  • Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara
    • You can't help but love this mascara. The skinny brush makes it super easy to get to the roots of your lashes, which is the key to have the gorgeous lashes we all wish for!
Body:
  • Nair Brazilian Spa Clay body cream
    • I love these products from Nair. I've been using nair for years but I must say I like this product more than the others I've tried. Unlike the others, it leaves your skin feeling moisturized and you have silky smooth, hair less skin for days! I've used this on my legs and went over a week before I needed to use it again.
Hair:
  • Cantu Shea Butter Moisturizing Cream Shampoo
    • Very Moisturizing shampoo. It cleans the hair but does not leave it feeling stripped which is the main reason I love this product.

Well, that's a few of my May Favorites. Some of these products I've had for a while but in the last month started reaching for them a lot more. There are a few others that I wanted to add to the list but I didn't want to make it too extensive lol. Listed above are my true favs of the month but I'll be doing more posts to touch on the other products that are not mentioned here....I hope you enjoyed!!

Until next time,

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer

Hey ladies!

Source

Recently, I've halfway ditched my normal liquid foundation, Makeup Forever Mat Velvet. I still swear by this foundation, but I've been noticing lately that the trend is a "no makeup makeup look." Flawless skin, natural eyeshadows, bold but clean brow, flush of color on the cheeks and either a bold pop of lip color or a natural lip (however you feel that day). Soooo...I went on a search to find a foundation-like product that would still give me coverage but be lightweight at the same time.

I've been hearing buzz about tinted moisturizers and BB Creams so I decided to try a tinted moisturizer out. Now, I did go for the more expensive product BUT I'm sure there are more products out there that are more economical.

I absolutely love the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, it glides on the skin like a moisturizer but gives you just the right touch of coverage at the same time. It is comparable to a sheer coverage foundation but I would not recommend this to you ladies that have areas that need a little more love and coverage unless you are using a concealer along with it. But it is great for a day that you don't necessarily what to pack on the foundation. It's very wearable and settles beautifully.

Product benefits:
  • Offers protection from the sun with SPF 20
  • Hydrates the skin while protecting it from dryness
  • Oil-Free formula that softens skin offering a healthy glow, while preventing excess oil from setting on the surface of the skin....which is a plus for us girlies who have acne prone skin
  • Can be paired with foundation to add moisture and spf 20. Also helps to build the foundation for a more even and flawless coverage

I've been using this product for a little over a week. I usually try to use the product for at least two weeks before I do a review or rave about it. But this could not wait. I have not reached for my full coverage foundation yet! I have dark spots on my face where pre-existing pimples were...this product does a good job evening out my skin and hiding my imperfections. This product really makes my skin look and feel great.

As I mentioned, this product is on the more price-er side, which is the only con that I have of it so far. I believe it was between $40 and $42 at Sephora. There is a good amount of product that comes in the tube, however, and a little does go a long way. So, to me, its worth the investment.

Until next time,
Toodles !! :)

Back from my Hiatus

Hey ladies!!

I'm backkkkkkk!! Yayy!

More excited than ever to have the time to blog again! I've made some major changes in my life that took so getting use to. I've recently started a new job. Where I worked previously I was averaging about 49-50 hours a week plus trying to balance my school work load. For those of you who are new to this blog, I'm working on my Masters of Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. The main thing is that I've settled into my new job where I'm working the normal 40 hours a week and making alot more $$$$, all the while being on top of my school work and blogging for you ladies :).

Woohooo!

Just to catch you guys up on a few things, I'll continue to do a "What's On My Nails" post every now and then as well as continue with my monthly favorites, product hauls and reviews. I'm trying to come up with new ideas for the blog which will just be weeded into my posts over time! You guys don't understand how much I have miss thee! Anywho, with me being in my second year of graduate the work is starting to get intense. Of course, as I did before this will be my outlet for break times when my brain starts to spaz out from stress lol. So I'll try to post at least once a week. I have blogger on my iPhone so hopefully I can start getting into the groove of posting on the go.

In other news, I am coming up to my one year anniversary of transitioning. In my first few posts discussing my decision to transition I mentioned that I did not what to "big chop" instead I wanted to transition with mini trims every 6 weeks or so. Ok....I haven't kept up with this whole trim routine at all. In fact, I've probably had only three...actually 2 1/2 trims (because I punked out1/2 through one of the trims). But I've made the decision to just suck it up and get rid of most of my permed ends. Having the two textures is just becoming too much to handle. I'm realizing that I started doing the same thing on my wash days that I do on the days that I need to sit down and hit the books, find something else unproductive to do. So at this point I'm feeling like I have no choice, my natural hair does reach my shoulder but my hair as a whole is armpit length. Then again the ends look extremely thin to me, which is not what I want my hair to look like. So, it shouldn't be that bad. And if it is I'll just wear weave for a couple of months lol.

Of course I have soooo many new products that I love and some that I hate that I'll be sharing with you guys so definitely look out for those! AHHHHHH....theres so much to cover lol but......

Until next time,
Toodles :)

♥ January Favs ♥

Heyy again!!

I know this is a couple of days late. But another extension of my blog that I planned to add is my monthly favorites! I know I do reviews of products but I wouldn't consider all of those products a favorite of mine; even if I gave a positive review of that product! Sooooo, with that said, onto my favorites!

*These items are not listed in any particular order.
  1. Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque
  2. L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Color
  3. M.A.C. Iris Apfel Nail Collection (in its entirety)
  4. Revlon Lip Butters
  5. Jewelmint: Parisian Dream Earrings
  6. Real Technique brushes
Some of the items mentioned above have been featured in a previous post and others have not. But
I hope to be doing a detailed video of my January favs. I havent been posting videos lately because I realized that the lighting in my house is not that great...well at least where its most comfortable to film. Hopefully, I'll be able to figure something out because I do what to go into details as to why these few items have made my list. It might be a situation where I do my January and February favs together in one video if time does not allow me to do them separately. But check on the previous posts but clicking on each item!

Product Review: Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque

Heyyy!
Source
For the past two weeks I've been giving this deep conditioner a try. I've heard many YouTubers and Bloggers runt and rave about this product so I thought I'd give it go. First off, I was kind of turned off by the price. I visited my local Ulta store to find that the 8oz was roughly $30 and the 16oz was about $40. Expensive, right?! I decided to go on Amazon and bought it for an absolute steal, $25 for the 16oz. I must admit, I'm elated I was able to get my manicured paws on this baby because this stuff is AHH-MAZINGLY AWESOME!!

I've decided to stay faithful to this stuff....there's absolutely no reason to stray! I was looking for a deep conditioner that would leave my hair ultra moisturized which are the exact results I got. Here are the product claims according to Ulta:

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque is a revitalizing hair reconstructor for dry, damaged hair. A combination of macadamia oil and argon oil along with tea tree oil, chamomile oil, aloe and algae extracts rejuvenate and rebuild the hair, leaving the hair deeply nourished for improved elasticity and shine with long-lasting conditioning benefits.

  • Combines Macadamia & Argan oils with Tea tree oil, chamomile oil, aloe and algae extract

  • Deep nourishment & long-lasting conditioning

  • Ultra-conditioning hair reconstruction

  • My hair was in desperate mean of rejuvenation; my strands were in dire need of some tender TLC. My hair started feeling super dry and lifeless to say the least. I must admit, I've been way too busy to put in the time to take of my hair so I completely understand why my strands decided to punish me! So, last night I decided to do an extreme deep condition. I left this product in for about 4 hours and honestly my hair looks and feels like a completely different head of hair. I dont even recognize my own strands! lol. As a note, I've used this product a couple of times before last night and I got the same results. You don't necessarily have to have it in for hours to get great results.

Because I am so far in my transition (its going on 8 eight months since my last perm) my ends are getting extremely thin. If you've been following my posts regarding my transition, then you know that shedding at the line of demarcation is simply unavoidable. So, with that said, my ends are quite thin compared to my new growth. Based on the results that I been getting from this product, I think its going to help me slow down my shedding. I'll keep you guys posted on how well it helps.

I highly recommend this product if your hair is dry and damaged. Honestly, if I had to I would purchase this product from Ulta. It's really worth the investment! Like I said, this is the deep conditioner that I've sticking with! I plan on adding this to my into my weekly routine!

Product Review: Real Techiques Brushes by Samantha Chapman

    Heyyyy!!!

Just decided to pop in and do a few posts while enjoying the Super Bowl. Yes! I am a sports fan! Watching football and basketball makes my heart smile! As for who I'm rooting for?! Neither, but I do want to see Victor Cruz salsa all night! lol But onto the review!

So for those of you that have been under a rock, Samantha Chapman is one of the makeup artists based out of the UK that make up the fabulous "Pixiwoo." You can find Samantha and her sister on Youtube under pixiwoo, pixiwoomadness, iavonUK, and realtechniques. These women are simply brilliant! They've built a wonderful empire for themselves, a great inspiration for many woman including myself! I highly suggest you check them out on YouTube! Here they are:

Here are the brushes that I purchased from my local Ulta:

Pictured from top to bottom: Blush brush, Powder brush, stippling brush, eye brush set

I LOVE these brushes! They're affordable and work like a dream! Here's a blurb from Real Techniques website:

    About The Line
Designed with pro makeup artist Samantha Chapman, Real Techniques brushes combine high-tech materials with innovative design to make creating a pixel-perfect look easier than ever:
    • Taklon bristles are ultra plush and smoother than the hair you'll find in other brushes. Since taklon is synthetic, it's 100% cruelty-free. The soft fibers help create a flawless, high-definition finish in any type of light – from sunlight to harsh indoor lighting.
    • The color-coded system corresponds to the key steps of makeup application so you can create a flawless base, enhanced eyes, and the perfect finish like a pro.
    • Each brush head is hand-cut to the perfect shape, allowing for precise application from dense coverage to a soft, delicate finish.
    • The collection is suitable for a wide range of products and every makeup need – from powders, creams, and liquids to mineral makeup, highlighter, and shimmer.
    • Brush names on the handles make for easy reference when creating your favorite look.
Everything the blurb above hightlights is all true!! In fact, on most days I go for these brushes over the MAC brushes that I have. I get a flawless look with little ease and that's what I love the most about these brushes. The only con I have is that there extremely hard to get your hands on. Over here in the states, you can purchase these brushes only at Ulta; although I'm sure you can try Ebay and Amazon as well. But I literally went to Ulta twice looking for these brushes and walked away empty handed. On my third try, I still didnt walk away with everything that I planned to purchase but at least that time I walked away with something!

Another thing that made me fall in love with this line is that the brushes do not shed. Some synethetic brushes shed their fibers which is completely annoying while you're doing makeup. Also, some synthetic fibers can feel cheap and stiff against the skin, making you have to work 10 times hard to accomplish a clean and blended look. Not with these brushes though, amazingly they feel like real hair and make blending a sweet breeze!

    I highly recommend these brushes!

Have you purchased any of these brushes? What do you think?

Sorry I havent been posting! :(

I'll be back in full effect next week for sure! :)

I have a ton of reviews for you guys and another mini haul....so be ready!!

M.A.C Iris Apfel Nail Lacquer Collection

    Heyy!!

Yes! I finally bought something from the Iris Apfel collection! This collection has spring season written all over it!! I absolutely die for all the nail lacquers and the lipsticks. Sadly, the two main lipsticks from this collection, that I wanted, Pink Pigeon and Flamingo, are sold out everywhere (including online) but I did purchase Party Parrott online which I'm excited about as well. Here is a pic of the three nail lacquers from the collection....

What do you guys think about the collection? Let me know!

    What's on my Nails?

(sorry for the cuticles looking a mess lol...but I did this in a rush)
Base polish: M.A.C Cream Style Tip
Tip color: China Glaze Black Mesh crackle polish

**Personally, I think crackle polish is overrated and outdated....but I was bamboozled into buying this one! I went to Ulta today to buy a China Glaze black nail polish and picked this one up by accident. Usually crackle nail polishes have a top that has the crackle effect on it to let you know that its not a regular polish but this one didnt for some reason, which is how I was bamboozled lol. But anyway since I have it I figured out a way to use it thats not overrated and outdated but simple and classic! And I like it when I use it this way, so I probably wont be returning the polish. I have my toes done with the full crackle and I'm still trying to like the full nail thing again :-/.

    Review: Clarisonic Mia!

    Heyyy!
    Clarisonic Mia

I believe I've mentioned the Clarisonic Mia in a previous post but I'm not sure whether I did or not. But here's the official review of the product:

I've been using the Clarisonic Mia for a little over a month and I can honestly say that it has been a lifesaver for me. When I started using this product a month ago I had about 7 pimples on my face. Within a week of using my Clarisonic Mia ALL of the pimples disappeared. I was surprised at how fast I got those results. But what really impressed me was the amount of makeup and residue it actually removes. I use the Clininque 3 step system with my Mia and for those of you who are not familiar with this system the second step is a exfoliante. What the exfoliante is designed to do is to remove the remaining residue that the face wash left behind. Using the Mia along with the Clinique face wash eliminates ALL of the makeup and excess residue! I barely even need the exfoliante (although I still use it lol). And it keeps the pimples away and my skin feeling refreshed and super smooth every time!

Here is the blurb from the Clarisonic website:

About Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin Cleansing System

Our smallest Sonic Skin Cleansing System, the one-button, one-speed Mia comes in a variety of colors and fits your active lifestyle – offering beautiful skin at home or on-the-go.

Beautiful Skin Begins With Cleaner Skin

Traditional methods of cleansing don’t get your skin as clean as you’d think. Fortunately, the lead inventor of Sonicare discovered a breakthrough in how we cleanse. Using Sonic Technology, Clarisonic’s patented micro-massage motion works within skin’s natural elasticity to gently remove the impurities traditional methods leave behind- leaving skin softer, smoother and more beautiful.
    • Cleanses 6x better than with your hands alone in just 60 seconds
    • Works with skin, not against it, to gently massage away impurities trapped within pores
    • Prepares skin for better absorption of creams, serums and moisturizers
    • Gentle enough to use 2x a day
The vibrations of this product is extremely soothing to the skin. At first the vibrations feel a little funny around the nose area but its a feeling that you get use to very quickly....especially once you notice how much of a difference maker it is!

The head of the Mia is extremely easy to clean. Once you finish using it just rinse away the yuckiness with water and place the cap back on the bristles. And that's it. The head needs to be changed every 3 months but maintenance of the product is pretty simple other than that. The kit includes a charger that you will only need to use every few weeks. The batteries are great in these things! Like I said before I've been using this for a month and have had to re-charge the battery twice--once when I first got it and about a few days ago. Twice in one month is actually pushing it from my understanding...I dont believe I allowed enough charge time the first time I charged it which is why I had to charge it again so soon after. But I'm interested to see how long the charge will last this time.

Every month there's a certain time that I will always see a pimple here or there or some times everywhere--its inevitable, unfortunately! And I did find that the Mia irritated the pimples the first few days that I used it on them. Basically, it just a slight redness. It did not bother me nor did it make me stop using the Mia. Like I mentioned, when I first started using the Mia I had pimples but those pimples were from not properly removing my makeup and they were also preexisitng pimples. The pimples that I am referring to now were associated with my menstrual cycle and appeared after using the product. I'm assuming since these pimples were extremely new the Mia caused a slight irritation. Note: The pimples did not mean that that Mia was not doing it's job because it was....based on the way my body works I will always have a pimple on my face to indicate my menstrual cycle is soon to follow. BUT all this is just my general assumption. Anyway, like I said, it didnt bother me and that is because I have a darker skin tone. For those of you with lighter skin tones, however, this may be a problem for you. So if you are of a lighter skin tone than I am, I suggest that you avoid using the Mia directly on the pimple and focus on the surround areas. Instead of the Mia, use something like the exfoliating scrub by Clinique or even Cococunt Oil directly on the pimple.

I can't say enough about this product! I simply LOVE it! It's a universal product too so any and every one can use it--men and women and the young and the old! The only con is that its a bit costly. It retails for $120 at Sephora as well as online on the Clarisonic website. If you have acne-prone skin like me, than I highly recommend you make the investment. But if you have no issues with you skin without using this product, than it is not worth you spending the money.

    Overall Rating: 10 out of 10 !!!!

    Sephora Haul

    Heyy!

I took a visit to Sephora in JcPenney's today while I was shopping around in the mall. I've gone to the actual Sephora store a couple of times within the past two weeks or so to see if they recieved the Naked 2 palette. All my attempts were a fail until TODAYYY!! Btw I've been to the Sephora I went to today a couple of times too! I had to find it! And Yessss....I finally got the Naked 2 palette!! I'm extremely excited. When I first got to the Sephora area I immediately darted toward the Urban Decay section to find no Naked 2 palette in sight. I'm one of those people that ask the sales people a bunch of questions (some I already know the answer to lol). I decided to ask the Sales person if they had it and to my surprise they did. She explained that they had them in the back because they "didnt have the space for it yet." I could not believe it....I suggested that they should definitely find the space because I'm sure alot of people were going there just for that like I was. They ended up bringing a few on the floor and putting they in the storage drawers near the floor...not sure what good they're going to be there either but whatevs. I have my palette so that's all that matters right now lol.

Anywho, the palette is amazing. It looks better in person then in the image on the Sephora website. As I waited for the lady to bring the palette back, one of the sales girl explained that she wouldn't purchase the second palette because it was pretty much just like the second one. She even went as far to say that there was only 1 color that was different which was a complete misconception (better yet a lie). We ended up comparing the two palettes and concluded that they are different and that the second palette actually has better colors than the first. I've read different opinions--some like the first one better and vice versa. I guess that's based on your personal preference. But I do recommend you purchase both. They're great to travel with and the colors are to die for!

I havent used the palette yet so I'm not sure how I'll like the colors on my skin tone. So, a review of the palette is coming soon! Aside from the Naked 2, I also purchase another Makeup Forever Aqua Cream in #14 Taupe Brown Shimmer. In addition, I purchased a Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense lipstick in Mat 5 and Too Faced Aqua Bunny Creme to Powder Bronzer. Reviews for these items are coming soon as well! But I tried the Too Faced Bronzer in the store and it was AHH-MAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL! It's a great bronzer for darker skin tones which I find hard to find.

Here are the products up close and personal:
Too Faced Aqua Bunny Creme to Powder
    Naked 2

Note: My lightning was horrible tonight for some reason, so I was unable to take a good pic of the Makeup forever lipstick and aqua cream. So I'll just do a face of the day using these two products so you guys can get an idea of how it shows on a darker skin tone.

    What's on my Nails?

    Hey!

This is a new installment that I'm adding to my blog. I realized that I change my nail polish color and I never share the new colors that I rock! So, I've decided to add a little bit of nail porn lol! Every time I change my nail color which is pretty often some times a couple of times a week...I will post a "What's on my Nails?" to share with you guys.

Please do not judge me, my nail polish collection is pretty extensive  and ever-growing lol. I'm in the process of finding a way to organize my nail polishes now (I think im just going to have to purchase a nail polish display rack that you see in the nail salons). Once, my collection is organize I plan on sharing that with you guys as well! I guess you can say that I collect nail polishes....but I just simply look at it as having options! :)

Anywho, here is my first post:

Brand: Kardashian Collection by Nicole by OPI
    Color: Hard-Kourt Fashionista
Purchased: Walmart (I found out they are also available at Target:
    Price Range: $7-$8

*arent the names in this collection so cute?! lol

Disclaimer: All nail polishes are purchased by me unless otherwise stated.

Product Review: Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Hair Mask (Revisited)

    Heyy!

    Monoi Collection

So awhile back I posted a review about the Carol's Daughter Monoi Repairing Set. Overall, I was not very inpressed with the set and made the assumption that this product works best on fully natural hair. I tried the Repairing Mask (which is a deep conditioner) again to see if I would get better results since I have a lot more new growth then I did at the time of the original post. Did I get better results?

    No.

I'm very disappointed with this collection overall. I've tried other Carol's Daughter products and have been extremely satisfied. Her Olive Oil Infusion Kit even made it to my 11 Favs of 2011. But for some reason I can not convince myself that I like this kit in the least. Well what's wrong with it? ....in my opinion a lot of things, mainly the fact that it leaves my hair feeling dry and unmanageable! Not to mention, detangling after using these products is a nightmare!

I get super annoyed every time I try this kit because (1) i think highly of her products and (2) i'm already having a tough time managing my two textures, I don't need anything to add onto to that aggravation. Like last time, I ended up co-washing my hair, this time with Tresemme Naturals Conditioer which is THE BOMB! I'm going to do a review of this product later on! I have nothing but great things to say about it though....if your wondering :).

I just cant catch a break with this collection. The first time I used it I used the entire kit together. But this time I just used the Repairing Mask hoping that I would receive at least semi-good results. And that was a fail! Unfortunately, I still have some more left of this collection. Maybe one day I'll bring myself to try this collection out once I'm 100% natural. Don't hold your breathe on that one though.

Have you tried this collection? What do you feel about it?

Product Review: Makeup Forever Aqua Cream

    Heyyy!
    Aqua Cream

Makeup Forever is a pretty new brand that I've been attracted to recently. I use their Matte Liquid Matte Foundation which I love. I took a trip to Sephora and was drawn to the Makeup Forever section. As I was there I started sampling the different products that they offer and was pleasantly surprised at how pigmented their Aqua Cream was. Not to mention, the colors are AHH-MAZING. I placed a couple of swatches on the back of my hand and could not resist the temptation to purchase one. So, I did and I'm honestly IN LOVE with these creams. I'm actually considering purchasing all of the colors!!

Here is what Sephora says about this product:

    Aqua Cream
    What it is:
    An ultra-pigmented, long-lasting waterproof cream.

    What it does:
Aqua Cream combines the highest-quality pigments with mother of pearl particles to give immediate rich color payoff with a luminous finish in just one application. It's long-lasting formulation will not crease or smudge under the most extreme conditions and its creamy and elastic texture allows for easy blending.

What else you need to know:
Available in shades ranging from soft neutrals to pure bright tones, you can find the perfect color for any purpose.
    Shades #5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 are formulated for the Lips & Cheeks.
    Shades #1, 2, 3, 4, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, and 22 are formulated for the Eyes & Cheeks.

I love the fact that these products are versatile--its a highlighter, blush, lip tint and eye shadow all in one. I've only tried out this cream as an eye shadow and it is "ultra-pigmented and long-lasting" just like the product claims. I love finding products that actually do what the product claims in ALL aspects like this product lol. There's so much I can say about this product but I honestly want you to try it out for yourselves. Expressing my opinion to you guys about this aqua cream does not give this product enough justice, it's just one of those things where you'll understand my excitement for this product once you try it yourself!

The color that was purchased was the #13 Warm Beige. Try this product out and let me know what you think!

    Check out Jewelmint!

    Heyy there!

Have you checked out Jewelmint this month?! If you havent what are you waiting for?? This month Cher and Kate came out with the best pieces that I've seen thus far! I will definitely be purchasing a few of the pieces in my showroom. The quality of the pieces in this showroom seems excellent. I've been searching around YouTube and Facebook to see reviews on these items and to see how people are wearing them. Everyone seems to be beyond satisfied with these pieces as well as with other JM pieces. I'll be making a few purchases sometime this month.

Here are a few pieces that I'm in LOVE with:

    • Parisian Dream Earrings
    • Flabella Earrings
    • Plume Divine Necklace
    • Calypso Earrings
    • Laurel Drop Earrings
Note: Some of the items mentioned above are from previous showrooms.

What pieces showed up in your showroom? Which ones are your favs? I'd love to know!

    Until next time,

So to end the 2011 year I decided to share with you my favs. It was extremely hard to determine which products made the list and which didnt. But I was able to narrow the list down to 11.

Note: Products not mentioned in this post are not dismissed. If I posted a review strongly advocating that I love that particular product, I still do love that product. I just had to narrow the list down, unfortunately!

    Toodles until next time!

    Introducing....

    Heyyy!!!

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hope you all enjoyed bringing in the New Year. And I wish you guys love, health and prosperity in the months and years ahead!

As I mentioned a few weeks ago transitioningglamour.blogspot.com was going to undergo a few modifications...the biggest one being the change in URL. Originally this blog was formed to document my journey to natural hair. It will still serve this purpose but I decided to incorporate my love of all things glamourous! So I thought it would be a great thing to change the set up of this blog to encompass everything that I love as a wonderful start in 2012.

With that said, the URL will no longer be transitioningglamour.blogspot.com! The new URL issssss......

    endlessglamour.blogspot.com

The content will remain the same with few additions. I hope you guys continue to enjoy this blog and make this blog successful! I love sharing my thoughts and opinions with you guys and hope that this blog will continue to soar and manifest into something great!

There are still changes that I am trying to make...I'm not computer savvy so I'm learning everything as I go with help from other people. I want to do as much as I can myself because this blog has really become my baby and I want it exactly the way I want it lol. So be patient with me, things will continue to change and I think you will enjoy the changes.

Again, Happy New Year! There are some wonderful things in the making for endlessglamour.blogspot.com and I!
