La Tresses

My Current Hair Regimen

Sunday: Wash Day
  • Carol's Daughter Oil Infusion
  • Shampoo w/ Mixed Chicks or Carol's Daughter Monoi Shampoo (both are pretty good; out of both of them Mixed Chicks is my go-to product)
  • Condition w/La Bomba Faviola Carrect or Carol's Daughter Monoi Conditioner (i use this while I completing my other shower tasks)
  • Deep Condition w/ Biolage Conditioning Balm mixed with jojoba oil, Nyla Hair oil, Vatika olive oil, avocado oil, and peppermint oil.
**Every other week I also do a protein treatment using my Una Phytology Intensive Protein Treatment**
Monday and Tuesday:
  • Moisture and seal
    • Organic Root Stimulator Olive Moisturizing Hair Lotion
    • a mix of unrefined shea butter, coconut oil and jojoba oil
Wednesday and Sometimes Friday:
  • Co-Wash with La Bomba faviola carrect (I normally use Herbal Essence Long term relationship, which I love, but I have like two of these bottles of conditioner that I want to get rid of) i also add the same oils as mentioned above
  • If I am having more breakage than I would like I use Aphogee's 2 Minute Keratin Restructurer
Thursdays and Saturdays:
  • Usually, I dont do anything to my hair on these days
**I also take 1 5000mcg pill of biotin daily
**Refer to my old regimen below, it was my first regimen. As you can see above I've made some changes, but other things have stayed the same. I'm leaving my old regimen up so you guys can have more options to choose from while your creating your regimen. Remember, your regiment will more or less stay the same but there will always be a time to revamp your regimen, especially if your transitioning. :)

My OLD Weekly Hair Reggie :)

**UPDATE: I no longer moisturize and seal my hair. Instead I try to keep my protective styles (twist outs, bantu knot-outs, flexi rod sets, etc.) in for at least two to three days and use my lightweight jojoba oil to moisturize my hair.

Sunday: Wash Day
  • Black Tea Rinse or Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse (both of these I do once a month--i have post explaining what both of these do for your hair)
  • Shampoo (Mixed chicks)
  • Deep Condition (la bomba faviola carrect mixed with avocado oil, grapeseed oil (i stopped adding this to my mixes), argan oil (the brand of this that i have I found out that its more designed to be a heat protectant so i use it when i straighten my hair which is VERY rare nowadays--i am looking for a pure argan oil to use though), peppermint oil, jojoba oil, vatika olive oil, and nyle hair oil or Una Phytology range intensive protein treatment and the same oils)
Monday:
  • Moisture and Seal (motions hair lotion and coconut oil)--no longer do this
Tuesday:
  • Moisture and Seal (motions hair lotion and coconut oil)
  • Jamaican Black Castor Oil
**i no longer do anything to my hair on tuesdays, thursdays or friday nights usually
    Wednesday: Co-Wash Day
    • Deep Condition (Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship w/ same oils as above)
    Thursday:
    • Moisture and Seal (same as above)
Friday (depending on how I feel and what my plans are): Co-Wash Day
    • Same products as above
    Saturday:
    • Moisture and Seal
    • Jamaican Black Castor Oil
--on saturdays i usually either put in my pre-poo, if not then i usually do not do anything to it

***moisturizing and seal is something that i eliminated in my routine.....i would not suggest this for everyone but i realized that i really dont need to do this step because I have found another way to retain moisture which is re-wetting my hair when restyling at night (if i choose to) and using the jojoba oil to seal or just use the jojoba oil before styling in the mornings (this is what i have been doing a lot lately) ----i just dont moisturize and seal just because anymore
